⑦ 方法与争议：这些材料该怎么读
一、多数案例是「回来之后追认」的

当场被逐字告知内容的，本汇编里只有不到 20 例。更多人是在此后的人生里，把原本模糊的暗示回溯性地解读成一项使命；也有相当数量的人（Jack、Robert I.、Fena D.、Omar C.、Ramona C.、Kathi B.）终其一生都在追问「我的使命到底是什么」。研究者注意到一个反复出现的机制：内容被刻意隐瞒，或被告知「回来就会忘」——Betty Eadie 甚至是在被展示使命后、以「返回即遗忘」为条件才答应回来的。

二、文化差异与批评意见

有批评者指出，「使命未完成／你不回去整体的和谐就会被破坏」这类叙事在西方（尤其基督教语境）的案例中明显更突出，东方案例里少见；「你走了世界就毁了」这类说法，也被一些人视为带有情感施压的成分。一个可对照的锚点是印度研究者 Satwant Pasricha 与 Ian Stevenson 的案例集：同一时期的印度案例里，「被送回」的理由更多是「记录出错／被误拘」，而非「使命未完成」——这提示「使命」这套叙事框架可能带有相当程度的文化色彩（本汇编第 ⑤ 区正好把这条线单独拎了出来）。与此同时，Edgar Cayce 一派把它读成业力与转世的自然机制，摩门教神学则把它接进「出生前存在」的既有框架。同一批叙述，至少存在「真实彼岸／潜意识文化投射／宗教框架内化」三种读法。
